About us

In recent years, the expansion of telemedicine services has been significant. Telemedicine and telehealth programs are now sponsored by hospitals, home health agencies, mental health providers, provider offices, health plans, case management organizations and by my other types of organizations. These services assume a critical role in improving the continuity and quality of medical care.

The American Academy of Telemedicine (AAT) was formed in 2017 to help providers of all types become trained and certified in key telemedicine services. AAT offers a series of educational courses and a credentialing process, called the “Certified Telemedicine Provider (CTP) Certification Program.” Once a provider becomes CTP Certified, they have documented that they have telemedicine training and a hands on practicum that can be used by telemedicine sponsors in their credentialing and placement process.

The American Academy of Telemedicine interactive one-day exclusive training enables participants to understand the telemedicine industry, understand how it can expand the practice, know what it takes to succeed with telemedicine, learn best practices, demonstrate appropriate use of equipment and software, and obtain professional certification.
